Vinces's Pizza for Friday night Takeout

Ok, Friday night we decided not to go out as we were tired. My wife was hungry for Spaghetti so I decided to get some take out from Vince's Pizza on Virginia Avenue. They had a website here but seems that the website is not working. I have looked at a few months back. I have eaten take out from there in the past but this was the first time I picked it up myself. It is like a pizza joint but the decor is nice and the place looks very neat. I noticed some bottle of nice wine behind the register. We ordered three dinners, two chicken parmigiana and a spaghetti with meatballs. The parmigiana came with sides of spaghetti and all three came with side salad and garlic bread. All the meals were good. The parmigiana had a liberal covering of cheese which I love. The sauce was a little more on the sweet side. I think it was more of pizza joint with standard Italian dishes on the menu. I think to be fair we will have to go back and try the pizza to determine how good the overall restaurant is. Having said that I would defiantly go back for the Chicken I ate. The meals were a little bit expensive but you really got a lot of food including the salad. So overall I would recommend it if you are passing through Halfway.

note to self... March 19 redneck ribs opens

I ran across that Red Neck ribs on Halfway blvd opens March 19. I stopped by a few times in the past. mmm mmm good. Summer can not come fast enough.

Red Curry on Railway lane for Lunch

Red Curry is the third (I believe) Asian restaurant to move into the old Sakura since they move a few store fronts over. The dominate flavor on the menu is Thai. The Red Curry is a very nicely decorated place. The staff are nice and attentive. It is by far the best Thai in Hagerstown. The menu is dominated with Thai dishes which my wife and I absolutely love but there are a number of Chinese dishes on the menu which is good if you have a group of people and there is someone who is not so sure they like Thai but will eat Chinese. There are also a number of Japanese influences also. We ordered Pad Thai, Red Curry and Broccoli Chicken. We ordered the lunch menu so the portions were smaller but nice size for lunch. The meals came with soup (wonton or miso) and rice (steamed or veg Fried) all three meals were delicious. The ingredients were very fresh and very tasty. They do not have any beer or wine on the menu but that may be just because they recently opened. It was very nice experience, relaxing and tasty. I would recommend it and will be going back again. It is a really good choice if you know you want Asian food but not sure if you want Chinese, Japanese or Thai. I really hope this one sticks better than the two previous restaurants.

Worst or BEST List

Well I could not decide were to go next to write about when I ran across this list. I cant figure out why it is the worst. I even realized I stop by Quiznos last night and grabbed an Italian sandwich which made the list. I am so proud of myself. I am thinking about trying the Outback this weekend now. I just hate the 3 hour wait to get in. I have never tried there call ahead service though. We shall see what gastronomical events are in store for our near future.

IHOP on Groh BLVD

Ok so I started this BLOG with IHOP. Not like Nick's airport Inn or Duffy's downtown. Well that is were we ate today. So the IHOP near the Walmart is were we went for Breakfast which was closer to lunch. I have not eaten at IHOP for a number of years. On Saturday morning we waited about 15 or 20 min for a table but they had allot of seats in the waiting area so the wait was tolerable. I was impressed by the menu. It was three of us my Son, Wife and myself. My son got a Caesar Salad for appetizer (yes strange to get at IHOP for breakfast) which was not too bad for what you would expect at IHOP. My wife ordered the Pancake Sampler which had two eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, hash browns and of course came with three pancakes (there are four choices of syrup on the table, butter pecan, strawberry, blueberry and maple.) My son got a stack of standard house pancakes with bacon and I ordered the Denver omelet which is a meat lovers dream with sausage, ham, and steak tips. I really like the steak tips had a nice flavor. We enjoyed the food allot. I saw all you can eat pancake offers on the menu so I am sure you can eat to your hearts content. The waitress (who was Russian) was quick to keep our glass's full of drink. The cost was kind of high because we really ordered 4 meals with the salad, the salad was big enough for a whole meal. So over all it was a good dinning experience. There Menu had a pretty good looking dinner menu but it is hard to think about eating dinner there. Maybe on another occasion.

Our newest adventrues

Me and my husband love to have adventures. I started this blog to talk about our adventures and share them with our friends and families. Sometimes our adventures are simple, just going out to eat dinner. Sometimes they will be grand like trips across the globe. We are planning to take a trip to the Philippines soon. But most of the time mostly will be just about the restaurants in the area that we enjoy. There is so much life to enjoy and we love to enjoy it in person as much as we love to share it on the computer.
