Auction For A Cause

It’s been a month since typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng brought havoc in the lives of many Filipinos and yet up to now, there is still an outpour of help in the relief and rehabilitation efforts coming from different sectors to support those that have been affected.

A lot of showbiz personalities joined forces as well in helping out the flood victims.

Angel Locsin, a Red Cross Ambassador, spearheaded a campaign that will benefit typhoon victims and asked help from her celebrity friends—Anne Curtis, Dimples Romana and Kris Aquino to donate for her project called "Shop & Share." This is an online auction which showcases personal designer items of showbiz personalities whose proceeds will go to the Philippines. Read more..

Awkward Boy

The husband son is getting to that age when his face is starting to break out. Of course he is awkward enough without having those huge blemishes on his face. So I think that an acne treatment will really help his self esteem. Even better if we can find a natural product to get rid of the acne or at least make them not so frequent. It seem that for eternity it has been a battle for his age and though it will never go away at least there are natural ways today to tame it.

Off From Work Today

I am off from work today because the husband and I went to USCIS Baltimore for my biometrics. Last month I sent out my package for my I-1751 Removal of Conditions Status. Thankfully, it was quicker than I could imagine. So, today my appointment for my biometrics was 10 AM, it was just right time when we got there and in 5 minutes I was done. Much easier than I thought huh! Now, I just sit and relax while waiting for my approval and possibly my 10 yr green card-:) Last step will be my Citizenship. Btw, I have huge decision to make If I want to be an American Citizen or not hehe, hopefully next year. Will see..... Good luck to all who are still on the process, everything will be fine as long as you have everything they need.

Training On An Elliptical

Lately, the husband always tells me about his knee was in pain every time he went for a run. While he is trying to get into shape it is difficult to go out and run or even stay inside and use a tread mill. So he really is thinking about getting an elliptical trainer. Ellipticals have the advantage of having less impact on the joints. So you can put in the miles and the hours need to shed those unwanted pounds with out suffering afterward from those seriously debilitating joint aches. Sometimes, after a run he cannot walk for many days. So I know this will go along way to making him skinny once again.

Believe In Yourself

"For you have been my hope, O Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth." – Psalm 71:5 The glass elevator in our Tower of Hope was inspired by the El Cortez Hotel in San Diego. The owners of the elegant hotel decided they needed additional elevators, so they hired a group of architects and engineers to figure out the best location, both in terms of appearance and cost. If they put the elevators inside the hotel, they would have to cut a hole in all the floors. What a mess! Plaster dust would be everywhere. As the planners stood deliberating over where to place the elevators, a janitor overhead the conversation. He thought about the horrible mess the hotel was going to be in while all the reconstruction was going on. And the more he thought about it, the braver he became. Finally he approached the group of men and said, "Why don't you put the elevators outside the building?" Nobody had thought of that! The professionals listened and the idea clicked in their imagination. "Why not?" they said. "It's never been done before, but let's try and see how we could do it." So the elevators were built outside the El Cortez Hotel. Since then, many well-known buildings have done the same thing! Common people can be brilliant if they only believe in their own ideas! I don't care who you are. I don't care how poor you are. I don't care how educated you are. I don't care what your race it. I don't care where you are on the economic ladder. You have the same basic brain as any other human being! Believe in yourself. * * * Have you ever abandoned a "brilliant" idea because you lacked self-confidence? Maybe it's time to go back and take a second look!

Keep Away The Food

It was funny I keep buying slimmer for my shirt because I cannot help but eat too much. But I think better than to buy a slimmer would be to try an appetite suppressant. If the food does not pass between my lips then it will not settle on my hips. I am good until I get hungry then I eat what ever I see. Well, actually I am good for few hours and I can resist for then but eventually it over comes me and I break down and give in and eat. So if I could get rid of my appetite then I know for sure that I could keep these extra pounds off.

Making A World Record?

I've been following this story of Jessica, a very young sailor trying to make a world record. The youngest sailor who tried to sail around the world. I find it very interesting because it was a lot of going on before she started to sail. If you want to read the whole story click HERE.. I cannot wait more update from her.

Keep Yourself Young Forever

Really, I am not as old as I look. I think the wrinkles around my eyes make me look old for sure! I think I need to try some wrinkle cream to hide those flaws which make me look old. Actually, I am not thinking about myself but my best friend. I look so young but she looks old because of her wrinkles. I have been smart enough for years to use cream to keep me youthful. If you look youthful then you feel young and so you are beautiful. It's up to you if you follow my lead so you don't end up like my friend looking old because of wrinkles!

Moving Coast to Coast

It is one think to move across town. You can usually arrange so that you can move out of one house and into the other on the same day. You can even use your own truck to get it done, or at least rent one on your own. But moving from one side of the country to the other is a different story all together. There is nothing like cross country moving because it is hard to entrust all your earthly possession to a stranger and then see if everything is there in one piece weeks or sometimes months later. Luckily, there are companies that help to make sure you find that right mover and save you some money at the same time.

Rejoicing Of My Heart

Your Word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart. — Jeremiah 15:16

For centuries, many Christians were not permitted to read God’s Word in their own language. Instead, they were encouraged to attend Latin services that few could understand.

Then, in 1516, the Dutch scholar Erasmus compiled and published the first New Testament in the original Greek language. This landmark work was the basis for the later publication of Luther’s German Bible, Tyndale’s English Bible, and the King James Version. These translations made the Scriptures understandable to millions of people around the world.

Erasmus could not have known the influence his Greek New Testament would have, but he did have a passion for getting its message to laypeople from all walks of life. In the preface he wrote: “I would have [the Gospels and the Epistles] translated into all languages …. I long for the plowboy to sing them to himself as he follows the plow [and] the weaver to hum them to the tune of his shuttle.”

The prophet Jeremiah reflected this same passion for the Word: “Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your Word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart” (15:16).

Protect Your Computer

I hate when I get a virus on my computer. It really drives me crazy because it takes days to get it fixed and then sometimes things do not get fixed correctly and then I have to reload all my programs. I think it would just be easier if we got some antivirus software installed on our computer just to keep those viruses off the computer and then I would never have to reload all my programs and pull out my hair. I am sure the husband will find the right one to protect us.

Brighten Your Room

I keep thinking that the best way to make my house look like a million dollars is to put a nice sconce in the living room. I think I would like to put at least three in my living room and maybe I could use a few more in my dining room. They really do not cost that much and you can put a candle on each one that not only adds to the room with visual beauty but also if you chose the right candles you can have wonderful cent. So not only is your room looking bright but it smells bright.
